Founded ten years ago by the Wolcott Street/Lakewood Road Business Association as a means to revitalize the area, The Magical Mile encompasses the stretch of road that begins on Wolcott Road near the Manor Avenue intersection and G.S. Regan Associates, up to the Waterbury/Wolcott line, as well as northeast up Lakewood Road to the top of the hill at TC’s Pawn Company.  Covering the mile-long stretch is a wide variety of some of the best retail, service-oriented businesses and restaurants Waterbury has to offer. 

A division of the Waterbury Regional Chamber, the Wolcott Street/Lakewood Road Business Association is made up of a collection of like-minded business owners who work hard to give their customers the very best dollar value and shopping experience.  After embarking on an image enhancement project in 1988 the Magical Mile has become a retail shopping destination, being home to major retailers, privately owned businesses, supermarkets, eateries and entertainment venues. Whether you’re shopping for electronics, a good mechanic or simply need to fulfill your business essentials for insurance, banking, printing or supplies – today’s Magical Mile has something to offer everyone!
